Mr. Kidney began his career as an auditor for a CPA firm where he worked on municipal audits. He then entered the exciting world of municipal finance for a series of four municipalities starting as a County Administrator and then Finance Director. Mr. Kidney then worked as an independent Municipal Advisor with Springsted Incorporated assisting clients with debt financing, economic development projects, and strategic planning. Mr. Kidney then returned to the joy of leading a finance department and is the current Finance Director of Lawrence, Kansas. During his career, he has served on the board of Directors for numerous non-profit organizations ranging in size. He has been very involved in several professional organizations including the Government Finance Officers Association, where he has served in numerous roles and is currently on the National GFOA Committee on Governmental Debt Management.
